A woman in Frederick County is behind bars after being convicted of physically and verbally abusing a child, prosecutors announced. Ana Cecilia Gonzalez, 50, was convicted of second-degree child abuse and second-degree assault following a two-day bench trial after she was identified by a child as their abuser. An 18-year-old Leesburg man was arrested for assaulting and robbing an acquaintance at a Sheetz gas station last week, police said. Fidel Ordonez Molina assaulted the victim, took his phone and fled on foot around 5:20 p.m. Friday, May 17 at the Sheetz station on Edwards Ferry Road NE, Leesburg police said. Nearly three miles of delays were being reported in a crash on I-95 in Northern Virginia on Monday, May 20. A member of the Metropolitan Police Department was shot and injured in Northwest DC on Monday afternoon. An officer was shot in the area of 7th Street and Oneida Place NW at around noon on Monday, May 20 and rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries, according to officials.
