ID Released For 38-Year-Old Woman Struck, Killed By SUV On Busy Hudson Valley Roadway
The identity has been released of the victim of a fatal crash on a busy Hudson Valley roadway. The incident happened around 11 p.m. Friday, May 10, in Orange County on Route 211 near Route 17 in the town of Wallkill. New York State Police say that a preliminary investigation revealed that Connecticut resident Mary C. Shea, age 38, from the town of Naugatuck in New Haven County, was walking on Route 211 when she stepped off the curb and into the right lane of traffic when she was struck by a 2017 Ford Escape that was traveling west. Car Goes Up In Flames On Busy Northern Westchester Roadway
Smoke was seen on a busy main route in Northern Westchester when a vehicle went up in flames. The incident happened on Saturday, May 11 around 1:40 p.m., when a car caught on fire on Route 9 southbound in Croton-on-Hudson just south of the pedestrian bridge. According to the village's fire department, the blaze began in the vehicle's engine compartment and was quickly put out. The car was removed from the road after around an hour. No injuries were reported.

Two police officers were injured after allegedly being hit by a red Lexus that fled the scene during a traffic stop in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 10 p.m., Sunday, May 12, at Main and Church Streets in the City of Poughkeepsie. According to Poughkeepsie PD Det. Sgt. A 40-year-old man faces a long list of charges after leading authorities on a chase with two young children inside his car and crashing on a busy parkway in Westchester, police said. New York state lawmakers are considering legislation aimed at expanding the definition of drugged driving amid a rise in fatal crashes. A bill sponsored by Democratic Sen.
