A dead whale was towed to the Jersey Shore after it was caught on the bow of a cruise ship, officials said. The cruise ship in the Port of Brooklyn, New York, reported the sei whale was caught on the front of the vessel on the morning of Saturday, May 4. A 42-year-old Newark man was sentenced on Friday, May 3, to two consecutive life sentences for sexually abusing three children, authorities said. The man, whose name is being withheld by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office to protect the identity of the victims, was convicted in Dec. 2022 of 27 counts of sexual assault and endangering the welfare of three children, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens said. A 38-year-old daycare teacher in Morris County was recently charged with assaulting a 16-month old baby in March, authorities said. Christina Susco, a Budd Lake resident and teacher at Mount Olive Child Care and Learning Center assaulted the baby on Monday, March 25, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said. A four-vehicle crash with injuries was delaying traffic on Interstate 295 on Wednesday morning, May 8, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 9:50 a.m. on I-295 northbound near Exit 65 (Sloan Avenue) in Hamilton Township, according to the NJDOT and New Jersey State Police. Elmwood Park police busted a repeat offender with mushrooms, LSD, pot and prescription pills, authorities said. Brandon J.
