Rite Aid Announces Massachusetts Store Closure After Declaring Bankruptcy Rite Aid has announced new store closures after the struggling pharmacy chain filed for bankruptcy in the fourth quarter of 2023. Shortly after declaring bankruptcy, Rite Aid announced 154 store closures. In a filing on Tuesday, April 9, the company said 17 more stores, including one in Massachusetts, in Fall River, at 10 Stafford Road, Rite Aid currently has 2,000 stores and about 44,000 employees. Rite Aid is one of a number of drugstore chains facing litigation related to the deadly abuse of opioids and more than a thousand lawsuits have been filed claiming Rite Aid illegally…

$100K Lottery Ticket Sold In Central Mass It was a very lucky Monday, April 8, for one Bay Stater after they won $100,000 in the Massachusetts State Lottery.  The six-figure ticket was for the $30 scratch-off game "$15,000,000 Money Maker." It was purchased at Shaw's at 14 W Boylston St. in Worcester.   The winner's name was not released, but the store will receive a bonus for the sale.  They were one of 658 people who won $650 or more in the state lottery. Some Of The Bests Photos Of The Eclipse Taken Across Massachusetts While Massachusetts was not in the "totality zone" for Monday afternoon's solar eclipse, it still was a monumental event. Many Bay Staters snapped and shared impressive photos of the rare celestial event.  The zone of totality, where 100 percent of the sun was blocked by the moon, was a little more than 100 miles wide and stretched from Mexico to Maine.
