The man who barricaded himself inside a Southeast DC apartment and set it on fire over a rent dispute with a property manager is facing criminal charges, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. District resident Mitchell Cooper, 63, was arrested and charged with arson and threats to do bodily harm following an incident that played out on Monday afternoon, authorities announced. Woman Found Fatally Stabbed Inside Maryland Business, Man Wounded: Police
A woman was found fatally stabbed inside a Maryland business alongside a wounded man on Tuesday afternoon, March 5, police said. Officers responded to a business on the 4900 block of Allentown Road in Prince George's County around 12:30 p.m. The woman was found with multiple stab wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. A man was also found stabbed and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Detectives are working to establish a motive and do not believe there is an active threat to the community. The investigation into a midday home burglary in Frederick County has led to the arrest of a Silver Spring man who is now facing a litany of criminal charges, authorities announced on Monday. Quentin Bassey, 18, has been arrested by members of the Frederick Police Department following the investigation into an early afternoon burglary inside a home in the 1400 block of Mobley Court.
