RYE, N.Y - The University of Delaware announced Wednesday that Rye's Erik Antico is the new general manager of the University's Blue Hens IMG Sports Network.

As general manager, Antico will provide sales leadership for the University of Delaware’s sports property, conceptualize and execute sales and sponsorship programs and oversee all fulfillment activity, according to a press release.

A standout athlete at Rye High School, Antico was a two-time All-State football player and led the team to the 2005 state title. He also was captain of the basketball team. Antico earned his bachelor's degree in marketing and management from Georgetown University in 2011. While at Georgetown, he was a four-year letterman and a two-year starter for the Hoya's football team as an offensive lineman.

"I am extremely excited and honored to be a part of the Blue Hen’s family and the University of Delaware," Antico said in a press release. "The tradition, passion and pride Delawareans have for their athletic programs is outstanding and something I am excited to experience. For the state of Delaware, the Blue Hens are the home team and it resides with people near and far. I am fortunate to be able to market a tremendous brand and look forward to exploring all of the different aspects this market has to offer."

Antico comes to Delaware after serving as IMG account executive at the University of Connecticut the past three years. Currently, he serves as the class president of the Georgetown Gridiro Club and was a three-year member of the Georgetown Leadership Academy while in school.
