Rye Schools Investigate Testing Irregularities

RYE, N.Y. -- The Rye City School District is investigating allegations that teachers may have provided inappropriate coaching to students for the New York standardized tests held in April.

The district received a report from a parent on May 6 of a possible testing irregularity on the English Language Arts and Mathematics exam. The district immediately filed a report with the New York Department of Education and the Westchester County District Attorney's office and an internal investigation was launched.

Two teachers at Osborn School and a teacher at Milton School have been reassigned as a result of the ongoing investigation, according to a statement released by the school district. The teachers are alleged to have provided improper coaching to a small number of students during the testing.
