RYE, N.Y. – Adele Murray Langer of Rye died Nov. 22. She was 95.
She was born April 28, 1917, in Mount Vernon to Edward and Elsa Murray. She married Walter Langer in 1938 and they moved to Rye in 1951. Langer's passion was her family. She enjoyed boating, fishing and playing bridge. She was assistant to the principal at Academy of the Resurrection from 1965 to 1982.
Langer was predeceased by her husband and a granddaughter, Kim de la Chesnaye.
She is survived by four daughters, Susan (Robert) Berman, Virginia (Bob Giaquinto) de la Chesnaye, Kim (Frank) Stever and Eileen Langer (John) Smith; a brother, Philip (Karin) Murray; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Graham Funeral Home in Rye. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at Church of the Resurrection. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a favorite charity.
