RYE, N.Y. – Thousands of Con Edison customers in Rye and Rye Brook are still without power by Wednesday night, with no indication when restoration might occur.
An estimated 3,901 out of 6,070 total customers in Rye are without power as of 9 p.m. Wednesday. In Rye Brook, an estimated 2,938 out of 3,720 total customers are also without power.
Officials with Con Edison gave no indication when a majority of the outages in Westchester County would be repaired. A total 166,318 customers out of 348,198 in the county remain without power Wednesday night.
Authorities are asking customers to report outages and downed wires to Con Edison and not through local emergency service lines. Customers can call 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633). When reporting an outage, customers are asked to have their Con Edison account numbers available and report whether their neighbors also have lost power. Customers who report outages will be called by Con Edison with their estimated restoration times as they become available, according to a news release.
