Linking Handlebars was able to meet its goal through donations, a raffle event and the support of several local businesses and individuals including Larchmont Bicycles, Danny's Bicycles, Huffy Bikes, Westy's of Port Chester, Dean Errigo, Bill Brody, Matthew Donaghy and Rye High School volunteers.

“The look on the kids faces when they sat on their new bikes made me realize it really was worth all the hard work to get here. Now, I just want to make sure every kid who needs a bike, gets one”, said Cristiana Villani, Vice President of Linking Handlebars.

Residents can support Linking Handlebars in continuing its mission to gift the next 26 bikes to children at the Carver Center in January 2014 by making a cash donation. Representatives said $20 can provide one helmet, $30 can repair one bicycle, $75 can purchase a new child’s bicycle and $100 can purchase a new teen bicycle. A donation of a gently used bicycle is also welcome.

Donations can be mailed to PO Box 75, Rye, NY 10580 or by visiting the Linking Handlebars website.
