WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A fatal accident has resulted in the closure of the northbound lanes between exits 21 and 22 on I-95 in Rye on Monday afternoon, state police said.
The lanes are expected to be closed for "quite a while," according to police, who reported that the accident occurred at 2:12 p.m.

Several earlier accidents were reported as roads continue to be slippery.
A crash involving an overturned vehicle occurred on the northbound Saw Mill River Parkway at Ashford Avenue in Dobbs Ferry. It was reported at 1:15 p.m.
An accident on northbound I-95 near the Westchester/Connecticut border at Delavan Avenue (Exit 2) blocked the right lane was reported at 12:30 p.m.
An earlier accident was reported on eastbound I-287 near Route 22 (Exit 6) in White Plains and has resulted in the closure of the exit ramp.
The New Castle Police Department is advising motorists not to drive unless absolutely necessary.
"The storm has changed over to an icing event and roads continue to be very hazardous," the department announced early Monday afternoon. "There are many accidents and cars getting stuck this afternoon."
