RYE, N.Y. -- The Rye YMCA celebrated National Senior Health & Fitness Day on Tuesday, May 26, with an afternoon devoted to health and fitness for older adults.
The event was free and open to the community. Highlights included a lecture by Dr. Nina Cheigh on the impact of diet and lifestyle changes and several group exercise classes.
Seniors sampled the evidence-based exercise program EnhanceFitness, learned about stress management with breathing and meditation, participated in gentle chair exercises and practiced tai chi.
