Rye Charity 'Best Friends For Life' Sells Products For Mastectomy Patients

RYE, N.Y. -- "Best Friends for Life" in Rye was founded by Dr. Elizabeth Chabner Thompson in 2011 to fill the need for well-designed and patient-friendly products for those facing mastectomy surgery.

The store window of Angela's in Rye Valentine's Day contains loads of big red stuffed hearts from Best Friends For Life.

Products include a line of mastectomy recovery kits called BFFLBagsR complete with medical, personal care and other products; a line of surgical, treatment and recovery bras and accessories for those undergoing cancer treatment.

The kits given to local hospitals include heart shaped pillows that are filled with micro beads and fit under a woman's arm to help minimize swelling after mastectomy surgery.
