Person Kills Self At Hamptonburgh Preserve, Body Found By Hiker, Police Say
The body of an unidentified person who police say committed suicide was discovered by a hiker in a popular Hudson Valley nature preserve. The body was discovered in Orange County in Hamptonburgh in the Hamptonburgh Preserve around 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 at the eastern bank of the Wallkill River at the end of the Hamptonburgh Trail, said Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police. Troopers responded and conducted an investigation, Nevel said. No foul play is suspected.

Person Dies After Pickup Truck Bursts Into Flames In East Setauket
An investigation is underway surrounding the circumstances of a person's death during a vehicle fire on Long Island overnight. Suffolk County Police officers responded to the blaze in East Setauket on Friday, Aug.18 at around 11:10 p.m. on the north shoulder, west of 445 Route 25A. The Setauket Fire Department extinguished the fire and a body was discovered inside the 2004 Dodge pickup. The person has not yet been identified. I-80 Bridge Jumper Swam To Safety, PA Troopers Say
A person jumped into the Delaware River, Pennsylvania State Police told Daily Voice on Thursday. The unidentified person jumped from the I-80 toll bridge around midday on July 20, 2023, PSP explained. The jumper was taken in by authorities for "evaluation," said Trooper Anthony Petroski. Their condition was not immediately clear.

Man Dies After Jumping From Bear Mountain Bridge, State Police Say
A man drove to Bear Mountain Bridge and died by suicide after leaping off the structure's edge, said State Police, leaving his vehicle parked on the structure facing west with its hazard lights flashing. According to police, the body of the unidentified person was discovered floating in the Hudson River at approximately 7:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14 by an officer investigating the unoccupied vehicle. The body was recovered by members of the Stony Point Fire Department, according to police. The bridge was not closed during the police investigation.

Man Found Dead On NJ Transit Bus In Newark
An unresponsive man found on an NJ Transit bus in Newark died, responders said. The victim was found unresponsive on the No. 1 bus near its final stop at 16th Avenue and 20th Street around 6:30 p.m. Friday, NJ Transit spokeswoman Lisa Torbic told Daily Voice.
