A dump truck carrying dirt overturned and shut down Route 202 in Hunterdon County Monday afternoon, July 31, authorities said. The truck overturned on the southbound side near River Road in Raritan Township around 12:30 p.m., the Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad said. Responders found the truck overturned in the left turn lane. The load of soil it was carrying had been dumped into the northbound lanes alongside a large diesel leak. Lane Closures: Traffic On Sprain Brook Parkway In Mount Pleasant To Be Affected
A series of lane closures over several days will interrupt traffic on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester. The Sprain Brook Parkway in Mount Pleasant between State Route 100 (Bradhurst Avenue) and Hospital Road will be affected by both single and double lane closures along both directions, the New York State Department of Transportation announced. The closures will begin on Tuesday, May 30, and last until Friday, June 2 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. They will facilitate construction work on the parkway.

Long Island Bridge Jumper Survives Fall
A man who jumped from a Long Island parkway bridge onto the Long Island Expressway survived the fall. The incident took place around 9:40 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21, when State Police responded to a report of a man on the Sagtikos Parkway bridge over the expressway in the town of Islip. Jack-Knifed Tractor-Trailer Jumps Median On Route 80
A tractor-tractor jackknifed and jumped the median on Route 80 in Paterson overnight Saturday. The mishap left the trailer on on side of the highway and part of the rig on the other part near westbound Exit 58 around midnight. Two lanes were temporarily closed on the eastbound side and one on the westbound. An ambulance took the driver to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. Firefighters summoned a hazardous materials unit to tend to a fuel spill.
