Update: Driver, 78, Killed When Backhoe Veers Into Path Of His Pickup In Paramus A 78-year-old motorist from Englewood was killed when his pickup truck collided with an oncoming backhoe that had swerved into his path in Paramus, authorities confirmed. The victim was headed north on Forest Avenue in a 2020 Ford Ranger when the crash occurred near Filippe Court around 5 a.m. Saturday, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said. The incident took place in Rockland County in a cottage in the rear of 104 Lake Road in Valley Cottage on Tuesday, May 26. Major Main Break In Guttenberg, Several Still Without Water An apartment building and a number of individual homes were still experiencing low or no water pressure hours after a main break in Guttenberg Thursday, Suez Water said in an alert.  The break occurred sometime before 6 a.m. at JFK Boulevard and 71st Street in Guttenberg. Officials said the break occurred around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in the vicinity of the pond and Christian Herald Road.
