Sinkhole: Roadway Closed In Toms River A roadway in Ocean County that collapsed due to a large sinkhole.is closed to all traffic, police said. On Monday, the sinkhole opened up on Windsor Avenue, Toms River police said. The Municipal Utilities Authority and SUEZ are currently working to repair it, police said on Tuesday afternoon. Oradell Driver, 17, Critical After Haworth Crash A 17-year-old Oradell boy clung to life after his SUV slammed into a tree in Haworth Thursday night. Borough firefighters extricated the unconscious driver from his 2002 Toyota 4Runner following the 9:42 p.m. crash in front of the SUEZ water treatment plan on Lake Shore Drive, Detective Sgt. Justin Fox said. The Haworth Ambulance Corps took him to Hackensack University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, Fox said. He was last reported in critical condition, the sergeant said. Several borough police officers, firefighters and both BLS and ALS responders were at the scene.

Forshay Road is closed between Parker Boulevard and Grandview Avenue in Ramapo, the police department announced early Friday afternoon, Aug. 9. According to police, the water main break caused the road to buckle, leaving a large crevice in the turning lane. The roadway is closed as Suez makes repairs, and motorists in the area have been advised to seek alternate routes.

Suez Extends $1 Lease Agreement On Stony Point Town Pool Property  SUEZ and the Town of Stony Point announced an agreement this week to extend a land lease by 20 years on a 42-acre parcel used by the town for its pool. The $1 annual lease allows the town to continue to operate the pool on the 42-acre property until 2038.  The lease agreement has been in place since 1984.  Under the terms of the new agreement, the town is responsible for all activities related to the maintenance of the property and facilities. ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - A water main break in Sloatsburg has led to a “boil water” order for some residents that may last as long as a week, according to a SUEZ spokesperson. The “boil water” order was issued on Thursday morning, and SUEZ said customers affected will be notified when it is lifted.
