New Canaan Home Burglarized While Family Away On Vacation, Police Say Following a home burglary in New Canaan in which the family was away on vacation, police are asking residents to be sure and secure their residences. The burglary was discovered around 10:51 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at a home on Route 106 (Silvermine Road) when the family returned from vacation and found they had been the target of thieves, said New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski.
