Student, 16, Brings Metal Knuckles To Freedom High School: Cops A 16-year-old boy from Woodbridge was caught with metal knuckles on school grounds Monday, May 6, police said. A school resource officer found the Freedom High School student in possession of the knuckles while investigating a tip, county police said. Police said that "the knuckles were not part of any threat to other students, faculty, or staff." Officers sought petitions against the boy and after consultation with Juvenile Court Services, the case resulted in formal action and will be handled through the court process at a later date.

The incident happened on Monday morning, April 8, when crews from the Millwood Fire Department responded to a reported chimney fire at Fox Lane High School in Bedford.  According to the department, arriving crews soon discovered that the affected chimney was clogged and quickly worked to unclog it and return the situation to safety.  No injuries were reported.

A 17-year-old and a 15-year-old boy were the victims of the shooting, Mayor Ras Baraka and Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The two teenagers were transported to University Hospital in Newark, authorities said.  Gov. Phil Murphy said his office was coordinating with law enforcement.
