Raccoon Trapped Near School Tests Positive For Rabies In Prince George's County
A raccoon found between a school and daycare in Prince George’s County Tuesday tested positive for rabies, police confirmed. Officers responded to a report of a raccoon “behaving strangely” near the 5200 block of 43rd Avenue around 4:40 p.m., Hyattsville Police said. The raccoon was between a school, which had just dismissed for the day, and a daycare, which was still open. Police trapped the raccoon and took it with help from an Animal Control officer to a nearby veterinarian, where it tested positive for rabies. Two people were charged in connection with a triple stabbing that happened on a basketball court near a Boston school shortly after students were dismissed for the day, officials said. Police responded for a call about a person who was stabbed in the area of Armandine and Washington Streets around 2:42 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, Boston Police report. School officials are responding after a swastika was drawn on a classroom desk in Northern Westchester. Justin Reale spent the last Saturday of his life with family, mentioning how excited he was for the end of the school year and all the fun events that went along with it, his parents in Orange County told the Warwick Valley Central School District. Classmates are mourning the death of a high school student who died after falling into the Hudson River. Albany County resident Matthew Billetts, age 16, died Monday afternoon, June 13, according to a statement from the Watervliet City School District. He had been fishing with a friend and apparently suffered an unknown medical episode when he fell off the dock at Hudson Shores Park, News 10 ABC in Albany reports.
