Father Jumps To Help Son After Fall At Croton-Harmon Station Thanks to quick-thinking Metro-North officials and first responders, a person who fell on electrified tracks at a Northern Westchester train station and his father, who leaped in to help him, were rescued from the perilous situation.  The incident happened on Friday, April 12 around 10:30 a.m., when a person fell from the platform at Croton-Harmon Station onto electrified tracks, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.  After the fall, the person's father immediately jumped to help his son and put himself in harm's way in the process, according to the department.  …

Coroner ID's Man Who Fell 40FT. To His Death In Diesel Pit At Norfolk Southern In Cumberland Co A coroner was called to Norfolk Southern's railyard in Cumberland County after a man fell to his death. Emergency Dispatch Services sent a coroner to the fatal scene at the Enola Yard located at 218 North Enola Road on Wednesday shortly before 5 p.m.  The man was identified as, Stuart Riggs, 58, of Mechanicsburg, according to the Cumberland County coroner. A guard rail failed, causing Riggs to fall into a 40 foot diesel pit. Riggs was declared deceased at 5:15 p.m.  His cause of death was traumatic injuries and it was ruled accidental. The incident took place around 10:22 p.m., Wednesday, March 31 when an individual was trespassing in Holyoke and came into contact with Amtrak Valley Flyer Train 494 traveling between New Haven and Greenfield, said Jason Abrams, a spokesperson for Amtrak. Pedestrian Killed By Amtrak Train In New Brunswick A pedestrian was fatally struck by an Amtrak train Wednesday night in Middlesex County, authorities said. The victim's name and age have not been released. It is not clear why they were on the tracks. Clifton Woman, 35, ID'd As Victim Fatally Struck By Light Rail Train The person killed when she was struck by a light rail train in Weehawken Monday night is a 35-year-old Clifton woman, NJ Transit said.  Saskia Guerrero was struck by the Hudson-Bergen line train around 11 p.m. near Port Imperial Boulevard. The Hoboken train had about 70 people aboard.  Family have started a GoFundMe campaign on her behalf to help with expenses. The incident remains under investigation.
