Poughkeepsie Duo Nabbed For Stealing Checks Worth $130K From Post Office Boxes, Police Say
Two men from the region have been charged with possession of stolen property and robbery for allegedly stealing more than 100 checks worth $130,000 from post office boxes.
Dutchess County residents Jaiyah Shabelch, age 25, and Raheem Angus, age 25, both of Poughkeepsie, were arrested on Monday, March 11 following an investigation into the thefts.
According to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police, officers were conducting surveillance of a free-standing US postal box on Raymond Avenue after several complaints of stolen checks.

Biz Owner Used Drone To Drop Dye Into Residential Absecon Pools: Police
A 45-year-old man from Atlantic County has been arrested in connection with dropping dye from a drone into local pools, authorities said.
Patrick Spina 4th, of Absecon, owner of Comfort Solutions Heating and Cooling, is facing multiple counts of criminal mischief, according to Absecon police.
On Aug. 13, Absecon Police received a call from a concerned homeowner on Upland Avenue, who reported suspicious activity involving a drone hovering over their pool.
