Man Smashes Victim With Hammer During Seaford Fight: Police
A Long Island man was arrested on charges of assault after he allegedly hit an acquaintance with a hammer. The altercation occurred in Seaford on Sunday, May 5. According to Nassau County Police, a physical fight broke out between two acquaintances at a home on Spruce Street. During the fight, police said Mark Moran, age 61 of Massapequa, struck his victim, a 64-year-old man, multiple times in the head, causing the man to suffer deep lacerations to his head and other parts of his body. A jet skier in distress was rescued overnight on Long Island. The Water Emergency occurred on Friday, May 3 at 9:20 p.m. in Massapequa. Nassau County Police received a call from 911 about a jet skier in distress near Great Island. A Nassau County aviation helicopter and marine unit used their spotlights to locate the jet ski.
