‘A True Gentleman’: Retired Nysp Trooper From Troy Dies At Age 61 From 9/11-Related Illness
Decades after he helped search for survivors buried in the rubble of the World Trade Center following the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, a retired New York State Police trooper has died.
Patrick Hogan, of North Greenbush in Rensselaer County, died Thursday, April 13, at the age of 61 from an illness stemming from his time at what became known as Ground Zero, according to State Police.
The New York State Troopers PBA, which represents nearly 6,000 retired and active members of the New York State Police, said Hogan’s death will be considered a “line-of-duty death.”

A Hudson Valley man who moved home from Florida to run a farm with his family has died at the age of 42.
Dutchess County resident Ryan Patrick Brennan, of Lagrangeville, died on Monday, Sept. 19, at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, according to his obituary.
When he was a child, he lived in Albany, New York; San Diego, California; Bethesda, Maryland; and Millbrook, New York, his obituary said.

Colleagues and loved ones are mourning the loss of a man from the region with a history of serving his country and his community.
Albany County resident Andrew Durand, of Guilderland, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the age of 30, according to his obituary.
“Unfortunately approaching the one year anniversary of his father’s passing, Andy suffered a relapse and was airlifted from a local hospital to Albany Medical Center where he eventually passed,” reads a GoFundMe established to help his family with medical expenses.

Officials Announce Groundbreaking Of New Education Center In Saratoga County
State officials announced the groundbreaking for Hudson Valley Community College's new 14,500-square-foot STEM Education Center.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the groundbreaking on Wednesday, June 29, for the new building at the college's North extension center, which is located in New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's Saratoga Technology and Energy Park in Malta, Saratoga County.
