Williamstown-Native Matthew Perry Dies: Hollywood Mourns Star of 'Friends,' Films
New England's own Matthew Perry, best known as the sarcastic, spastic, and overly-dramatic Chandler Bing on "Friends," died unexpectedly at his Los Angeles home on Saturday, Oct. 28, multiple outlets reported. The Berkshire County native was just 54 years old. Police were called to his home around 4 p.m. and found him unresponsive in his hot tub. A 19-year-old suspect was brought back to D.C. to be charged for a 2020 homicide, police said. On Aug. 6, 2020, officers found 26-year-old Michael Brittingham suffering gunshot wounds in the 600 block of 46th Place, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. Three men are facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop for speeding on Route 15 by Connecticut State Police. Three men from out of the area were busted by Connecticut State Police troopers after being stopped for speeding on Route 15 in Milford. Troopers stopped a 2018 Chevrolet Suburban at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, when it passed a patrol car at a high rate of speed north on Route 15 in the vicinity of exit 53. Funeral services have been scheduled for a music producer from Northern Westchester who died at age 26 after being struck by a car while walking in Los Angeles. Relatives and friends of Louis Conway of Somers are welcome to attend a memorial visitation on Sunday, June 24 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac.
