Person Hospitalized After Car Crashes Into Friendly's Restaurant In Newington A person was taken to a hospital after a car crashed into a Friendly's restaurant location in Connecticut.  The incident happened in Hartford County on Sunday, Nov. 19, when a car crashed into the Friendly's in Newington at 3420 Berlin Turnpike (Route 5), according to the Newington Volunteer Fire Department.  Following the crash, firefighters shut off utilities and remained at the scene until the town's building department arrived.  One person suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized. The cause of the crash was not released.

Erik Mitchell, 30, was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree robbery and fourth-degree theft by unlawful taking, Hackettstown Police said. Suspect At Large After Long Island Friendly's Restaurant Robbery Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a Friendly's at gunpoint. The robbery took place around 7:23 p.m., Monday, Oct. 7, at the restaurant located at 533 Hawkins Ave., in Lake Ronkonkoma, said the Suffolk County Police. According to police, the man entered the store and demanded cash while displaying a gun. The man described as being 5-foot-7 with a medium build, wearing a red hoodie sweatshirt, a black face mask and glasses, then fled the store with the cash, police said. There were no reported injuries. An investigation is underway.
