Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing On Mt. Sinai Beach
It wasn’t exactly the runway he was hoping for, but a pilot still managed to land his small plane safely on a Long Island beach. Emergency crews were called at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, after a single-engine Cessna plane made an emergency landing on Cedar Beach in Mt. Sinai. Suffolk County Police said the aircraft suffered a power failure mid-flight and the 60-year-old male pilot was forced to put it down on the sand. The plane landed safely and neither the pilot nor his 59-year-old female passenger was injured. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating.

The single-engine 150 crashed at the privately-owned 96-acre airport on County Road 629 in Wantage around 11:45 a.m. April 16. Only the pilot was aboard. Only the pilot was aboard. Plane Crashes, Overturns At Manassas Regional Airport
A plane crashed and overturned Sunday evening, April 14 at a Virginia airport. State police said that a single-engine Cessna ran off of a runway at the Manassas Regional Airport, struck a culvert and overturned at 8:15 p.m. Neither the pilot nor the one other passenger were injured. Ground Stop Issued For Newark Airport Following Earthquake
Departures at Newark International Airport are grounded following a 4.8 earthquake that hit New Jersey on Friday, April 5. The order was issued by the Federal Aviation Administration at 11:05 a.m. and runs until 12:30 p.m. for departing flights. AirTran service at the airport is also temporarily suspended, though shuttle buses are available at terminals and stations. New York Gov.
