Burglary Reported At Popular Restaurant In Ridgefield Ridgefield Police are actively investigating the theft of a cash drawer from a popular local restaurant.  The burglary took place in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Hideaway Restaurant on Grove Stree, said Ridgefield Police Capt. Shawn Platt. A cash drawer containing $300 was reported to be missing from the restaurant, Platt said.  There was no evidence of forced entry, and there are no suspects at this time, he added. Nutley Fraud Victim Gets At Least Four Bad Checks From Same Person: Police An Uber driver ended up getting cheated out of thousands of dollars by an acquaintance who wrote a series of bad checks, police in Nutley said.  The driver told police Tuesday the person requested a ride to Indiana at an agreed-upon price of $850. When they returned, the driver was given a check for $4, 294 as payment.
