Duo Wanted For Stealing $25K In Equipment From Ridge Construction Site Police asked the public for help locating two men who are wanted for stealing equipment and tools valued at more than $25,000 from a construction site on Long Island. Two men broke into three storage containers at a construction site located in Ridge on Wading River Hollow Road and stole the items between 1:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, Suffolk County Crime Stoppers reported on Monday, Nov. 7. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.  Tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-220-TIPS.

Jersey City’s police and fire departments responded to 136 Summit Ave., where the man was found unconscious around 7:45 a.m., Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.  OSHA was responding. The man's identity was not released.

Man Found Sleeping In Stolen UConn Van Is Arrested A man who police discovered sleeping in a stolen vehicle has been arrested. Josue Pinto, 39, of New Britain, was arrested on Monday, Sept. 28, at around 10 a.m., and charged with larceny in the second degree, police said. South Windsor Police were alerted to Pinto when they received a report of “suspicious circumstances” at a construction site: a man sleeping in a blue Dodge with “UConn” on the side, police said. When police arrived on the scene they found Pinto who allegedly admitted to entering a UConn office on the Storrs campus, taking a set of keys, and stealing a van, police said.
