A state psychologist is accused of sexually abusing numerous underage victims at a New York State juvenile detention center going back years. Maya Hayes, of Albany, was arrested Friday, April 12, following a New York State Police investigation into allegations of abuse at Columbia County’s Brookwood Secure Center, located in the town of Claverack. 5 Catalytic Converter Thieves Caught With Fentanyl In Canaan: Police
Five people are facing charges after being caught with stolen catalytic converters and illegal narcotics after a traffic stop, police said. On Tuesday, Dec. 20, around 5 p.m. police in Columbia County pulled over a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria in Canaan that matched the description of a vehicle that had been used in the theft of catalytic converters, according to New York State Police. This story has been updated. A man who had been reported missing in the region has been found safe. Columbia County resident Jacob Kulyniak, age 25, of Claverack, had last been seen at around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. A New York woman is mourning the loss of her beloved pet donkey after the animal was killed by a bear. Columbia County resident Laura-Ann Camissa told News10 ABC in Albany that the attack happened sometime overnight Monday, Oct. 3, at her home in the town of Claverack, where she frequently takes in unwanted donkeys. Be ready for possible traffic delays on the Taconic Parkway in the coming weeks.
