Burglars Stole Safe During Break-In At West Chester Home, Police Say Detectives in West Chester are investigating a home burglary that took place in the early hours on Monday, Jan. 15, authorities said in a release.  Borough police were called to the 500 block of South Walnut Street on Wednesday night, Jan. 18 after the scene of the break-in was discovered.  Investigators later determined that the suspect broke in around 4:30 a.m. Monday. Ohio 'Swatter' Caught In Chester County, Police Say A Parkesburg man is charged with felony "swatting" in Ohio, according to borough police.  Michael Eugene Carpenter was arrested on an Ohio warrant on Tuesday, Jan. 9, authorities said in a release.  "Swatting" involves reporting a false crime to authorities — often a bomb threat or hostage situation — to provoke a police response, officials said.  Carpenter was released after posting a $10,000 bond on Wednesday, Jan. 10, court records show. Details of his pending extradition to Ohio were not immediately available.

Man Sought For Assault At West Chester Bar: Authorities At least one person was injured in an assault at a West Chester bar early Sunday morning, Nov. 19, according to borough police.  Authorities said they were called to Ryan’s Pub at 124 W. West Chester Man Attacked His Uber Driver: Authorities A West Chester man accused of attacking his Uber driver early Friday morning now faces criminal charges, say borough police.  Investigators say Samuel A. Makowski assaulted the driver both inside and outside the car on the 500 block of South High Street around 2 a.m. Makowski, 19, is charged with strangulation, aggravated assault, simple assault, and related counts, the department said.  He was remanded to the Chester County lockup in lieu of his $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear before a judge on Nov. 21, according to state court records.

Ho-Ho-Kus PD: Threatening Emails To Former Co-Worker Lead To Arrest Of Nassau County Man A Long Island man was charged with sending threatening emails to a former co-worker in Ho-Ho-Kus, borough police said. Craig N. Sabatini, 37, of Massapequa, was taken into custody near the borough train station late last week, Capt. Greg McBain said. Police charged him with stalking, harassment and cyberharassment stemming from an incident on Aug. 24, records show. Sabatini was sent to the Bergen County Jail last Friday, Sept. 1, and was ordered released by a judge in Hackensack on Sunday. He was to have no contact with the alleged victim under the terms of his release.

Child Assaulted By 77-Year-Old Mount Joy Man, Police Say A child under the age of 13 was sexually assaulted by a 77-year-old man, authorities announced on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Roscoe M. Geib, of Mount Joy, " inappropriate comments and touched the victim in an inappropriate manner," while the young child was in his care, borough police allege.  Following an investigation, Geib was charged with indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and corruption of minors police say and court documents confirm. His arraignment was pending at the time of publication so no additional details were available.

West Chester Employee Stole $5K From Borough, Police Say A West Chester parking officer faces more than just a ticket after police say he was caught stealing cash from the Borough's coffers.  Hector Mojica, a 59-year-old from Lancaster County, is accused of stealing $5,000 while working for West Chester's Parking Enforcement Division, said borough police in a statement.  The former borough employee is charged with three felonies, including theft and receiving stolen property, police added. Their injuries didn't appear serious, witnesses said. The chain-reaction collision occurred on the southbound highway at Virginia Drive shortly after 5 p.m., with the victims' Honda sedan spinning out and hitting a garage for a local garden apartment complex. Borough police and firefighters and the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded. Some of them were diverted when a rubbernecking crash occurred on the other side of the highway.
