Long Beach Police Make Five Arrests Within Several Hours
Police in a Nassau County city made five arrests within several hours ranging from the theft of a catalytic converter to nabbing a man in an alleged stolen vehicle.
The arrests began around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, in Long Beach when officers spotted a vehicle traveling without tail or headlights.
After pulling the vehicle over, officers determined the driver, Dominick Stewart, age 32, of Queens, did not have a valid driver's license, and the registration for the vehicle was fraudulent, said Long Beach Police Commissioner, Ronald J. Walsh.

Year-Long Investigation Leads To Auto Theft Charge For Area Man
A Pleasant Valley man was arrested for alleged auto theft following a yearlong investigation into the incident.
Matthew R. Mcclay, 22, was charged Friday, June 14, in connection with the incident that allegedly took place in April 2018, said Rhinebeck Police Sgt. Peter Dunn.
Mcclay was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, forgery of a vehicle ID number, auto stripping and unauthorized use of a vehicle, Dunn said.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $1,500 cash bail. Mcclay is scheduled to appear in court on July 10.
