Man Steals Numerous Catalytic Converters From Wading River RV Dealer, DA Says A 38-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly stealing numerous catalytic converters from a Long Island RV dealer. Blaise Marckesano, of Shirley, was arraigned on more than a dozen criminal charges in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, Feb. 9. Prosecutors said Marckesano stole six catalytic converters from recreational vehicles that were parked at W.E.S. Trailer Services in Wading River, between Dec. 11 and Dec. 13, 2021. Catalytic converters are part of a vehicle’s exhaust and contain precious metals like palladium, platinum, and rhodium. They are frequently targeted by thieves. …

Dutchess County resident George Foster, age 39, of Wappinger, was arrested on Sunday, Oct. 16, said Trooper AJ Hicks. On Oct. 16, troopers began investigating the theft of catalytic converters at the Sheep and Wool Festival hosted by the Dutchess County Fair Grounds, Hicks said. Seaford Man Nabbed For Larceny, Police Say A Long Island man with an arrest history was nabbed for alleged larceny. The incident took place around 5 a.m., in Levittown on Tuesday, Aug. 30. According to detectives, police responded to 301 Newbridge Road for a larceny in progress. Upon confronting the subject, Scott Raba, age 51, of Seaford, he fled northbound on Newbridge Road into a wooded area.  Police set up a perimeter and were able to locate Raba. Year-Long Investigation Leads To Auto Theft Charge For Area Man A Pleasant Valley man was arrested for alleged auto theft following a yearlong investigation into the incident. Matthew R. Mcclay, 22, was charged Friday, June 14, in connection with the incident that allegedly took place in April 2018, said Rhinebeck Police Sgt. Peter Dunn. Mcclay was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, forgery of a vehicle ID number, auto stripping and unauthorized use of a vehicle, Dunn said. He was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on $1,500 cash bail. Mcclay is scheduled to appear in court on July 10.
