Rye Neck's Richart Named Finalist For Heart Of A Giant

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Rye Neck High School’s Chris Richart and Jeremiah Minyard of Lincoln High School in Yonkers are among the six finalists for the Heart of a Giant award. The award is sponsored by the New York Giants.

The winner will be revealed at Giants Stadium on Dec. 28, during the Giants home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Candidates from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut were nominated for the award for commitment, determination, will, character and teamwork. The public then voted on the nominees. Ten players were nominated each week during the six-week campaign. The finalists were announced on Monday, Dec. 8.

The other four finalists are from schools in New Jersey.

Richart played defensive back and wide receiver, helping the Panthers post a 6-2 record. Minyard was an outside linebacker and wide receiver for the Lancers, who finished 8-1. Both players are seniors.
