The event was attended by the student athletes, their families and the organization's growing support network.
The group has been operating in the Port Chester school district for three years and used the event to welcome new schools and participants from the Yonkers and New York City public school systems.
The event featured two professionals associated with the U.S. Olympic movement.
Rebecca Crawford was the keynote speaker. Crawford is the director of international operations and the director of the Summer Olympic Games and has more than 20 years of experience with the U.S. Olympic Committee.
Her husband, Dr. Tom Crawford, is a board member and founding donor of Steer. He is chief executive officer of USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States and was director of coaching for the U.S. Olympic Committee for more than 10 years.
The Crawfords provided perspectives on goal-setting and motivation.
