Scarsdale Hockey Team Skates To Second Straight Section 1 Title

SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Scarsdale High School's hockey team won its second straight Section 1 title Monday with a 4-3 win over Suffern at Sport-O-Rama in Monsey.

The Raiders (22-1) are ranked No. 3 in the state by the New York State Sportswriters. It was the second straight year Scarsdale defeated Suffern in the Section 1 final. The score was the same as last year's final. Suffern handed Scarsdale its only loss, 4-2, last month.

James Nicholas, Anton Zock, James Nicholas and Duncan Hindmarch scored for Scarsdale, which built a 4-1 lead and hung on for the win.  Goalie Gabe Harousseau helped the Raiders stave off Suffern, which is ranked No. 9 in the state poll.

Scarsdale travels to Massena, the Section 10 champion, for a game Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The winner advances to the Division 1 semifinals in Utica on Saturday, March 14. The championship game is scheduled for Sunday, March 15, at Utica Memorial Auditorium.
