Rye's Eck Excels in Union College Football Loss

RYE, N.Y. -- Connor Eck won the starting quarterback job for the Union College football team and opened the season with a fine performance despite a 17-14 loss to Salve Regina.

Eck, a Rye graduate, completed 10 of 20 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown. The scoring strike covered 67 yards to Jimmie Bennett in the third quarter.

Eck also rushed for a team-leading 78 yards on 13 carries.
