RYE, N.Y. The Rye YMCA Gymnastics team returned from the National YMCA Gymnastics Championships in Milwaukee with multiple medals, the YMCA announced.
The team competed with 105 other teams throughout the United States at the nationals held June 28 to July 2. Level 4 team member Noey Johnson was named second place all around champion, receiving second place on bars with a 9.2; second on floor with an 8.75; eighth on beam with 8.35; and a 9.15 on vault.
Here were some more of the events highlights:
Taylor Worman, level 4, placed second on vault with 9.525 and scored 8.75 on floor; 8.4 on vault; and 7.6 on beam.
Kelsey Walsh, level 4, placed fifth on bars with 8.65 and scored 8.35 on floor; 8.8 on vault; and 7.05 on beam.
Cayla Brown, level 5, placed eighth on beam with 8.675 and scored 8.4 on floor; 7.85 on bars; and 7.6 on vault. Gillian Leung, level 5, scored 7.95 on vault; 7.75 on bars; 7.3 on beam; and 8.2 on floor. McKenna Schultz, level 5, scored 8.15 on vault; 7.5 on beam; and 8.25 on floor. Lily Donohue, level 6, placed sixth on floor with 9.2 and scored 9.0 on vault; and 8.025 on beam. Caitlyn Walsh scored 8.5 on vault, 8.2 on beam, and 8.925 on floor.
Debbie Musselman, level 7, scored 8.6 on beam; 7.5 on floor; 9.05 on vault; and 7.45 on bars.
