At the same time, several families interacted with the new equipment. ExerZone combines fitness with technology for a fun, fast-paced workout experience.

The new studio offers an alternative for members who want to become more active, as well as a compelling way to engage youth, teens, families and seniors.

Gregg Howells, the Rye Y’s executive director, said: “The response to ExerZone in the first week has been great. We have seen members of all ages coming in to try the equipment and the early feedback has been very positive.”

Member Evelyn Stier commented on how fun the ExerZone is: “I think it is wonderful. The design of the equipment is ingenious – I feel like I’m playing not exercising.”

In addition to open hours, there are several classes, free to members, in the ExerZone that are geared specifically for seniors, families and teens.
