The district is hoping that the event will become an annual tradition that brings the community together to support the Rye High School Garnets. In addition to the games, there will be sports fundraising at the high school, half-time activities, food, live music and Garnet spirit wear sales.
The games will kick off Friday, April 5 at 4:15 p.m. when the boys varsity tennis team takes on Harrison at the Rye Recreation Center and the junior varsity baseball team plays Harrison at Disbrow Park.
The following is the schedule of events for Saturday, April 6:
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Co-ed crew at Greenwich Harbor's Grass Island Park
11 a.m.: Varsity track vs. Rye County Day School at Rye High School
Noon: Varsity Softball vs. Rye County Day School at Rye High School
2 p.m.: Varsity baseball vs. Port Chester at Feeley Field
2:30 p.m.: Junior varsity softball vs. Rye Neck at Rye High School
2:45 p.m.: Girls junior varsity lacrosse vs. Somers at Rye High School
4:45 p.m.: Girls varsity lacrosse vs. Somers at Rye High School
7 p.m.: Boys varsity lacrosse vs. Lakeland at Rye High School
All events will be free except for the boys varsity lacrosse game, which will be $5 for adults and $3 for students. "G Day" shirts will be sold for $10 outside the high school cafeteria all week before the games.
