Rye Recreation Youth Baseball Signups Continue

RYE, N.Y. – The Rye Recreation Department is holding its youth baseball signups for several ages and skill levels beginning in April.

All participants will have skill/practice sessions during the first two weeks of each respective program and then will be assigned to a team. The Rye Recreation Department makes an effort to create balanced teams. All players will receive a team jersey and all players must bring their own gloves.??

Session I : Mondays, April 23-June 4. Time will vary between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.?No session May 28. Program site: Gagliardo Park (off High Street). Fee: $100 resident; $125 nonresident. Please note: Players will be assigned both practice and game times; these will vary week to week at either 3:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m.??

Session II : Wednesdays, April 25-May 30, 4 p.m.-5 p.m.?Program site: Gagliardo Park (off High Street). Fee: $100 resident; $125 nonresident.

Sunday Rookie Ball: Grade one,?Sundays, April 29-June 10, 10 a.m.-11 a.m.?No session May 27.?Program site: Gagliardo Park (off High Street).?Fee: $60 residents only.?Students will learn the basics of throwing, catching, fielding and hitting a soft baseball. Enrollment is limited to 25 participants. Program is organized and run by parent volunteers.

Cactus League: Grade two,?Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 24-May 31.?Time will vary between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.?Program site: Gagliardo Park (off High Street).?Fee: $130 residents only.?All players will practice the fundamental skills of baseball during the first couple of weeks of the program. Based on skill level, staff will create balanced teams and will not take special requests. All players will receive a team jersey. All players must bring their own gloves.?Please note: Players will be assigned both practice and game times; these will vary week to week at either 3:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m.??

Sunday Cactus Ball: Grade two, Sundays, April 29-June 10, 11 a.m.-noon.?No session May 27.?Program site: Gagliardo Park (off High Street).?Fee: $60 residents only.?Students will learn and practice the fundamental skills of baseball. All children need to bring their own gloves. Shirts will be given to all participants. Enrollment is limited to 25. Organized and run by parent volunteers.
