RYE, N.Y. -- Archrivals Harrison and Rye renewed one of the most tradition-rich football rivalries in New York State on Saturday and Rye pulled out a 24-13 win.
It was the 11th win in the last 12 contests in the series for the Garnets and the 84th meeting in the series.
Cartier Johnson scored a big insurance touchdown for Rye (2-0) on a 5-yard run early in the fourth quarter.
Harrison (0-2) had pulled within 17-13 on touchdown pass from Joe Nannariello to Zach Evans late in the third quarter.
