Moran, a left-handed relief pitcher, was selected by the Blue Jays from the Tacoma Rainier's of the Seattle Mariners organization, according to bluebirdbanter.com. He was then traded to the Angels for an international draft slot, according to the LA Times.

Moran, 25, had a 3.61 ERA in a season-and-a-half in the Pacific Coast League.

Per the rules of the Rule 5 Draft, he will be added to the Angels' 40-man roster and will have to be kept on the 25-man roster the entire season. He cannot be optioned or outrighted in 2014 without being first offered back to the Mariners.

Moran is a Class of 2006 graduate from Iona Prep in New Rochelle. He was drafted by the Mariners in 2009 out of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
