CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- The difficult stretch of games for Rye continues as the Garnets travel to Horace Greeley for a 2 p.m. game Saturday. Rye is winless this season (0-3), having fallen to Somers, John Jay-Cross River and Ossining. In their last two games, the Garnets have hurt themselves with turnovers. It does not get any easier for the Garnets because Greeley is undefeated and has one of the premier playmakers in Section 1 in quarterback Justin Ciero. Even though Ciero was held under 100 yards rushing (92) by Nyack, he threw for 73 and a touchdown. Greeleys offense is similar to John Jays with the quarterback running the ball. Rye had difficulty containing John Jay and quarterback Tyler Keech two weeks ago.
