RYE, N.Y. – Rye’s offense has come alive and the Garnets are planning on continuing their scoring ways when they host Horace Greeley at 7 p.m. Friday in a Section 1 Class A football game.

The Garnets, now 2-1, showed that their shutout loss to Sleepy Hollow in Week 2 was only an aberration as they erupted for 28 points in the first half of Saturday's 35-13 win over Eastchester.

Quarterback Andrew Livingston and receiver Jack Hasselman collaborated on six passes, including one for a touchdown. Shane O’Malley ground out yardage behind an offensive line anchored by Andrew Aquilino, and Tim DeGraw had a pair of scoring runs.

Along with an offense that was clicking, Rye played mistake-free football. The previous week against Sleepy Hollow, Rye threw two interceptions.

Greeley enters Saturday's game with an 0-3 record and has been outscored 72-10 in its previous two games.

A win for Rye this week would give the Garnets momentum going into their next game with John Jay-Cross River. Both teams are on course to enter the game with 3-1 records.
