Rye, Eastchester To Play For District 20 Title

VALHALLA, N.Y. -- Eastchester needs one win to take the District 20 Little League Baseball Majors title while a Rye victory would continue an impropable march.
Eastchester and Rye will meet for the championship, Monday at 5:45 p.m., at Pat Henry Field in Valhalla.
Eastchester, which emerged from the  winner’s bracket, will be the champion with a victory. Rye, which has won five consecutive games since a loss to Harrison, needs a win to force a decisive game on Tuesday.
Eastchester earned a berth in the final with a 6-5 win over Ardsley in the winner’s bracket final last week. Eastchester scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to grab the lead. Nick Koutoulos led off with a home run then Mark DeLorenzo capped it with a three-run smash.
Rye has won five consecutive games, including the loser’s bracket final, 11-1 over Ardsley last week. Max Kenney allowed two hits and struck out seven in the game. In the five wins, Rye has outscored the opposition, 54-14.
