Rowers From Pound Ridge, Rye Named To U.S. Team For World Meet

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Rowers from Pound Ridge and Rye were named Monday to the United States team that will compete in the World Rowing Junior Championships next month in Brazil.

Kris Petreski of Pound Ridge and James Palmer of Rye were among the rowers selected for the team. Thirteen crews will represent the U.S. at the world meet, which is scheduled for Aug. 5-9 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Petreski, who compfor the etes for the Norwalk River Rowing Association team in Connecticut, will row on the Men’s Quadruple Sculls. Palmer, a student at Rye High School, will row on the Men’s 8.
