PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- For the Pace University women's lacrosse, building a winning program was measured in a matter of months, not decades. In only their second year of existence, the Setters completed the season with their first-ever championship trophy, a 10-win season, and their first playoff appearance the previous week in the Northeast-10 Championship Tournament. Due to the team's recent formation, the roster is comprised solely of sophomores and freshmen generating quite a surprise this spring season.

In their topping of Mercy, sophomore goalkeeper Alissa Silvestri was named the ECAC Championship's Most Outstanding Player after stopping 10 shots and giving up just three goals in a stellar effort. Sophomore Casey Gelderman scored a game-high seven goals, while sophomore Abby Haimson compiled seven points on five assists and two goals.

Just two weeks before, Gelderman and Haimson were named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Team, and were joined by classmate Najmah James, while freshmen Courtney Pabst and Dana Radin both earned All-Rookie honors.
