RYE BROOK, N.Y. -- The Metro Golf Show, the New York area’s longest-running regularly scheduled radio program dedicated to golf, will celebrate its 200th broadcast this Saturday at 8 a.m. on WVOX (1460 AM) with star-filled lineup of guests, including real estate and golf course developer and television personality Donald Trump.
Co-hosts Tom Mariam of Rye Brook and Bill Meth will interview three of the greatest golfers of all time: Hall of Famers Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Joanne Carner. Trump, who has become one of the foremost golf developers in the world as well as in the New York metropolitan area, will talk about his growing golf empire.
“We are honored that Arnold Palmer, who rarely agrees to do such interviews, thought highly enough of us that he would help us celebrate this landmark show as our special guest,” said Mariam, co-host and producer of The Metro Golf Show. “We are proud to mark our 200th program with such a high level lineup of golfing greats.”
Meth said the show's 10th season continues to feature the best names in golf.
“This is our 10th season on the air,” Meth said. “We have built a strong reputation that has enabled us to present our audience with virtually all of golf’s biggest names, including Jack Nicklaus, Annika Sorenstam and Tom Watson and many top local players, as well as many popular non-golfers such as Derek Jeter, Matt Lauer, Eli Manning, Joe Torre and Jim Nantz.”
The Metro Golf Show airs Saturday mornings from 8-8:30 a.m. on WVOX (1460 AM), WVIP HD-4 and online at www.wvox.com. The Metro Golf Show is a joint production of Westchester-based Mariam Communications and JB Sports. The program won the Jimmy Cannon Award for public service in 2004.
