O'Connor will replace Kathleen Ryan as assistant superintendent for business. Ryan announced earlier this year that she would be leaving the district in July. O'Connor has worked with Ryan as assistant business manager in the Central Administration building since 2011. Prior to coming to Rye she was the administrative assistant to the business official in the Croton-Harmon School District for four years.

During her time in Rye, O'Connor has been responsible for monitoring the budget on a daily basis, managing the bidding process and coordinating budgetary adjustments. She has supervised office staff as well as food service and facilities staff, provided guidance on business matters, and been heavily involved in the budget, capital project and federal grant processes. She graduated from Pace University, where she received a bachelor's degree in business management, a master's degree in public administration and a master's degree in education.

Wyks will join Rye as the assistant superintendent for curriculum, a role Mary Anne Evangelist has held on an interim basis for the past two years. Wyks has held leadership roles in New Jersey schools for more than 20 years. She was the superintendent of the Riverdale Public School District for eight years, the superintendent of North Caldwell Public Schools for eight years, the principal of Grandview School in North Caldwell for eight years, and an administrative assistant at Fieldstone Middle School for three years. She received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Rider University, a master's degree in  business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a master's degree in education from William Paterson University and a doctorate in education from Columbia University Teachers College.

“After interviewing many candidates we felt that Ms. O’Connor and Dr. Wyks were right for the jobs," said Schools Superintendent Frank Alvarez. "Ms. O’Connor has been well?prepared for the role through her experience here in the district for the past several years and Dr. Wyks brings an extensive educational background as a long-time administrator. We were impressed by both individuals.”
