Rye, Rye Brook Schools To Close Early Friday

RYE, N.Y. - With a blizzard warning in effect for Westchester County, the Rye City and Blind Brook school districts announced they will be closing early Friday.

In the Blind Brook School District, the middle and high schools will dismiss at 10:50 a.m. and the Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School will dismiss at 11:15 a.m.

Rye Middle and High Schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. All elementary schools will dismiss at 11:45am.

Rye Country Day School is also closed Friday.

The blizzard warning is in effect until 1 p.m. Saturday. An estimated 10 to 14 inches of snow is possible throughout the day. Strong winds and poor visibility is likely, and the National Weather Service advises drivers to stay off the roads.
